How bongo flava dethroned congolese musin in Tanzania

 

Not so long a go, On a typical Friday night in Tanzania's bustling cities, the sounds of Congolese rumba and soukous would ripple through night clubs ,Beer gardens and wedding ceremony. 

Bands like Fm Academia, Extra bongo and Akudo impacts dominated the live music scene, theire melodic guitar riffs and elaborate dance routines were the gold standard of music industry. 

Fast forward today, and those some night clubs now pulse to the heavy bass and kiswahill bongo flava's new generation led by superstar icons  Diamond platinumz, Harmonize, Jux , Alikiba, Rayvanny, Nandy and many others.

The long standing Congolese dominance has faded from Tanzania's mainstream, giving way to a local genre that has redefined  the sound and identity of Tanzanian music industry.
